IELTS Reading: Good Vocabulary but Still Missing Answers?
A wide vocabulary is useful, but finding answers requires paragraph-level understanding, paraphrase recognition and a clear reading strategy.

Some students know many English words but still struggle to locate answers in IELTS Reading. This often happens when they focus on individual vocabulary and lose the overall meaning of the passage.
Effective reading is not simply about moving faster. Identify the purpose of each paragraph, summarize its main idea and notice how the question paraphrases information from the text.
After reading a paragraph, describe its role in a short phrase. This creates a mental map of the passage and helps you return to the correct section when answering questions.
With regular timed practice, error analysis and a strategy for each question type, your Reading score can improve even before your vocabulary grows significantly.
